Scope of work:

The Accounting Analyst must be able to understand current business needs and work collaboratively with Accounting and I.T. teams to define systematic/procedural solutions in connection with Accounting-related systems. The Analyst is responsible for analyzing data (using query tools), creating and maintaining reports using approved reporting tools, and supporting the businesses day to day operations. They will meet with business partners directly and lead sessions to flush out requirements (white boarding, brainstorming). In addition, they will help to identify ways to streamline and automate daily tasks to improve business effectiveness and efficiency as well as makes recommendations for corrections and prevention of errors or omissions. They will also participate and lead in the collection/documentation of requirements and solutions to support new business strategies using functional and accounting expertise and engages with technical peers to define solutions to solve business problems/issues by contributing to the design, development, and creation of business use cases and systematic test cases and scripts to ensure integrity of computer systems and software applications supporting the Revenue Accounting area. This position employs business process knowledge, support, analysis, testing, and collaboration with functional and technical peers to accomplish assignment.

Required skills/competencies:

3+ years as a Business Analyst, 3+ years experience working directly with business users Strong understanding of application development life cycle Knowledge of project planning tools ( Microsoft Project, Clarity ++) Experience developing testing strategies & test scripts Ability to facilitate requirements gathering & design meetings Experience leading team environments Experience using a process for documenting requirements & design

Preferred Skills:

Accounting knowledge preferred. Strong functional knowledge of systems and relational databases.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Information Systems
